Man’s life is like a Sparrow, mighty King!
That—while at banquet with your Chiefs you sit
Housed near a blazing fire—is seen to flit
Safe from the wintry tempest. Fluttering,

William Wordsworth was born
in Cockermouth, Cumbria, England,
on April 7, 1770.
He was a pioneer in English Romanticism
and authored numerous works of poetry,
including The Prelude (Edward Moxon, 1850)
and Lyrical Ballads (J. & A. Arch, 1798).
He died on April 23, 1850, at Rydal Mount,
in Ambleside, Cumbria.
3월의 끝나가는 오늘도 영하의 주말을 맞이하면서
따스한 화로가 고마운 날이다.
내일은 부활절 1 주일 전인 성주간(Holy Week)의 시작인
종려 주일/Palm Sunday를 맞이한다.
개인적으로 사순절을 계획한 것과 달리
제대로 잘 보내지 못한 후회를 조금이라도 만회하고자
평미사보다 특별한 예절이 많아서 준비해야 할 특별한 성가들이 많은
종려주일과 성금요일 미사에 차질없이 부르려고
평소보다 더 열심히 연습하는 나 자신이
시험을 앞두고 당일치기 같아서 솔직히 마땅치 않다.
그리고 오늘 읽은 이 작품에서도
대단해 보이는 우리 인간들이
잠시 따스해 보이는 세상에 머물다가도
언제 어디로
어떤 세상으로 가는지는 아무도 모른다는
메시지가 깊숙하게 박힌다.
