동부에서 대학교를 다니는 큰딸이 방학을 해서 

토요일 오후에 4개월만에 집에 왔습니다.

오랜만에 온 식구가 한자리에 다 모여서

혼자 자취하면서 대충 먹고 지내 온 딸아이를 위해서

미리 준비 해 놓은 음식을 함께들면서

그동안 밀렸던 얘기로 하느라 시끌벅적한 저녁 식사를 했습니다.

 

얼마 전에 읽은 이 재미난 시를

두딸과 함께 깔깔대며 읽기도...

물론 칼로리가 엄청 많은 쿠키를 맘껏 먹으면서...

 

오랜만에 개인적으로 제일 좋아하는 음색인

첼로의 선율이 집안에 흐릅니다.

 

이 글과 함께 올린 노래는 G & S의 오페라에서 나오는 노래로

평소에 좋아하는 노래를 첼로로 들으니

노래의 가사 내용과 시가 왠지 잘 어울리면서

새롭게 가슴에 와 닿습니다.

I am thinking of a fairy tale,
Cinder Elephant,
Sleeping Tubby,
Snow Weight,
where the princess is not
anorexic, wasp-waisted,
flinging herself down the stairs.

 

I am thinking of a fairy tale,
Hansel and Great,
Repoundsel,
Bounty and the Beast,
where the beauty
has a pillowed breast,
and fingers plump as sausage.

 

I am thinking of a fairy tale
that is not yet written,
for a teller not yet born,
for a listener not yet conceived,
for a world not yet won,
where everything round is good:
the sun, wheels, cookies, and the princess.

 

 

 

 

요즘 창가에 200송이가 넘게 핀 선인장 꽃의 농염한 자태...
