헨델의 메시아 2부와 사순절

 

    

 

 2월 17일은  캐톨릭 교회의 절기의 하나인 사순절의 시작인 재의 수요일입니다.

사순절은 부활절까지 40일간 금식, 금육 그리고 기도로서 우리의 삶을 뒤돌아 보면서

회개와 반성을 하면서 영광스럽게 우리에게 다시 살아 오신 주님을 맞이하려고 준비하는 기간입니다.

 

이날은 작년 Palm Sunday때 교회에 들고 들어 간 palm 가지를 일년간 잘 보관 해 두었다가

그 마른 가지를 태운 후에 그 재와 성유를 섞은 것을 재의 수요일 미사 때에 신자들의 이마에

십자가의 모습으로 발라 주는 예식을 합니다. 

이 예식은 구약의 창세기 3장 19절에 인간들은 재로 만들어졌고 재로 돌아가라는 구절과

(Remember, O man, that you are dust, and unto dust you shall return.)

신약의 마르코 복음 1장 15절에 죄를 물리치고 회개하고 복음의 말씀을 따르라는 성경 말씀에 근거를 둡니다.

 

매년 사순절 기간동안 우리 가족은 평소에 고치고 싶은 나쁜 버릇을 버리기와

좋아하는 것들 중에 포기 할 것들을 종이에 적어 두고 잘 보이는 곳에 부쳐 두고

부활절까지 리스트대로 지키도록 서로에게 약속을 한다.

개인적으로 열가지를 정해 두고 매주 두가지씩을 포기하면서

이번 사순절을 보내기로 했는데

이번 주에 포기 할 것은 인터넷 과 콤퓨터, 나 개인을 위한 쇼핑과 한끼 금식을 하기로 했다.

 

한동안 방을 비우게 되어서

사순절에 좋은 시와

헨델의 오라토리오 메시아 중에서

예수님의 수난을 주제로 한 2부 곡을 올려 두고 갑니다.

 

다시 올 때는 좀 더 비우고 낮추어진 모습이면 좋겠습니다.

   

  

Fasting and Feasting (단식과 향연)

 

                                                                

Fast from judging others;                             다른 이들을 심판하기를 절제하되

feast on the Christ dwelling in them.           그들 안에 머무는 주님을 맞이하라.

 

Fast from emphasis on differences;          남들과의 차이점에 중점을 두지 말고

feast on the unity of all life.                       살아 있는 모든 것들과 일치하도록 노력하라.

 

Fast from thoughts of illness;                    병마의 대한 걱정을 버리고;

feast on the healing power of God.           하느님의 놀라운 치유의 힘을 믿고 나아라. 

 

Fast from words that pollute;                      세상을 더럽히는 말을 삼가고;

feast on phrases that purify.                        이 세상을 정화시키는 언어를 구사하여라.

 

Fast from discontent;                                    불평 불만을 억제하고;

feast on gratitude.                                         감사하는 맘으로 사세요.

 

Fast from anger;                                            노여워하지 말고;

feast on patience.                                           인내하라.

 

Fast from pessimism;                                     비판적인 태도는 버리고

feast on optimism.                                          낙천적인 자세로 바꾸세요.

 

Fast from worry                                               걱정은 삼가고,

feast on divine order.                                        주님의 뜻에 맡기세요.

 

Fast from complaining;                                    불평도 자제하고;

feast on appreciation.                                        마워하면서 살아 가세요.

 

Fast from negatives;                                         부정적인 태도는 버리고

feast on affirmatives.                                       긍정적인 태도로 살아 가세요.

 

Fast from unrelenting pressures;                   지속되는 스트레스에서 과감히 벗어 나서

feast on unceasing prayer.                               끊임없는 기도로 극복 하세요.

 

Fast from hostility;                                          적대감을 버리고

feast on nonresistance.                                   평화적으로 해결 하세요.

 

Fast from idle gossip;                                       쓸데없는 수다(고십)은 삼가고,

feast on purposeful silence.                            침묵의 시간을 가지도록 노력하세요.

 

Fast from problems that overwhelm;           당해 내기 어려운 상황은 뒤로 접고,

feast on prayer that under girds.                  기도로 이겨내고 당당하게 사세요.
