오늘 4월 8일에 개기일식이 북미를 통과한다는 것을
몇 달 전부터 알고 있었지만,
우리가 사는 캐나다 서부와는 거리가 멀어서
제대로 볼 수 없다는 것도 인지하고 있어서
내겐 고향 같은 토론토나 몬트리올로 갈 쾌를 몰래 기다렸다.
하지만 막상 4월 8일의 날씨를 미리 알 수가 없기에
비행기 예약을 미리 예약을 할 수도 없어서 아쉽게도
살면서 보기 힘든 우주의 대단한 쇼를 뉴스를 통해서
보기로 결정했다.
뉴스에 따르면, 개기일식 현상이 발행하는 도시의 호텔은
이미 몇 달 전에 풀로 예약이 되었고,
개기일식을 안전하게 관찰할 수 있는 안경도
한 달 전에 매진이 되었다는 소식이 있을 정도로
수많은 사람들의 관심을 끌어왔다.
