10월의 마지막 주말에 미국 동부를 강타한 허리케인 샌디의 위력은

상상을 초월할만큼 막강했다.

미국의 14개 주와 캐나다 동부에 있는 온타리오, 퀘벡과 노바스코시아 전역에 걸쳐서

막대한 재산피해를 남겼다.

미국 경제의 25%가 허리케인의 영향을 받았고,

피해액은 자그만치 900억 불이 넘을거라고 한다.

 

지구온난화 때문에 매년 연례행사처럼 생기는 허리케인의 위력이

점점 거세어져 가는 추세를 보고,

우리 모두 작으나마 환경보호에 신경을 써야할 같다.

 

피해를 입은 수많은 사람들이

허리케인이 할키고 간 상처에서 하루 빨리 아물기를

두손 모아서 간절히 기도 드린다.
