2012년 후반 주요 미술계 소식들....

평소에 음악, 미술, 건축 그리고 문학에 관심이 많아서

구독하고 있는 몇개의 신문에서 관심있는 기사가 나오면

참고삼아서 간단히 메모를 해 두거나 콤퓨터에 스크랩을 해 두곤 한다.

 

그중에서 몇개만 간추려서....

지난 10월 16일 새벽 3시경에

네덜란드의 로테르담 도시에 위치한 Kunsthal Meweum (쿤스탈 미술관)에 소장된

7점의 미술품이 도난당하는 사건이 일어났다.

도난당한 미술품들 모두 다가 유명한 화가들의 고가의 미술품들로

$100,000,000 에 달할거라고 추정되고 있다.

 

도둑들은 미술관에 설치된 최신 하이테크 보안장치를 뚫고 미술품을 훔친 걸로 봐서

미술과 내부와 관련된 사람들이 아주 치밀하게 계획한 사건으로 보고 있다.

이번에 도둑맞은 미술품들을 비롯해서 약 150여점의 미술품들은

트라이튼 재단의 (Triton Foundation)개인 소장품들로

10월 7일부터 이 미술관에 대여형식으로  전시되고 있었다.

150점의 미술작품 중에서 제일 비싼 일곱 작품을 털은 것을 보면

도둑들은 보안시스템뿐 아니라 미술품과 미술시장에 대해서 잘 알고 있음에 분명하다.

 

참고로 미술품 도난은 마약판매와 무기 판매 다음으로 

세번째로 불법으로  돈을 벌어 들이는 범죄이기도 하다.

하지만 불행하게도 도난당한 작품들 중에서 고작 15%도 안 되고,

통계적으로 다시 찾는다고 해도 수십년이 흐른 뒤에서야 다시 찾았다.

지난 11월 13일 뉴욕 Sotheby 의 경매에서 팔린 주요 작품들..

 

 

No. 1 (Royal Red & Blue)

마크 로쓰코작의 추상화 '적색과 청색' 이 이날 경매에서

제일 높은 가격인 $7500만 에 팔렸다.

This Mark Rothko abstract sold for $75 million in a contemporary-art auction

whose total—$375 million—surpassed any in Sotheby's company history.

Fittingly, the Rothko painting is titled, "No. 1 (Royal Red & Blue)."

프랜시스 베이컨 작의 무제의 초상화가 $2,970만 에 팔렸다.

A Spanish-speaking telephone bidder paid $29.7 million for Francis Bacon's portrait,

"Untitled (Pope)," more than its $25 million estimate.

 

 

게하르트 리히터 1990년 작의 추상화가 $1,740만 에 팔렸다.

It only took a single telephone bid for a collector to win

the $17.4 million Gerhard Richter "Abstract Painting" from 1990

 

 

데 쿠닝 작의 추상화는 $1,960만 에 팔렸다.

A telephone bidder paid $19.6 million for Willem de Kooning's "Abstraction,"

 

 

 

잭슨 폴락 의 Number 4, 1951 작품은 $4,040만 에 경매되었다.

Sotheby's offered up a group of eight postwar abstracts

from the collection of department-store magnate Sidney Kohl and his wife, Dorothy,

led by Jackson Pollock's $40.4 million "Number 4, 1951."

 

 

 

아쉴리 고르키 작의 '조급함' 이 '저렴한' 가격인 $680,000에 팔렸다.

Arshile Gorky's works are still quite undervalued in the art market.

Sotheby's offered his excellent "Impatience" (1945)with an estimated price of $6-8 million.

The lot sold for $6,8 million, arguably the "bargain" of the auction.

 

 

 

앤디 워홀의 "자살"이 $1,632만 에 경매되었다.

Andy Warhol's "Suicide" from 1964 nearly trebled the previous record for a work on paper

by the artist to sell for $16,322,500.

 

 

 

 

 

 2012sus 11월에  뉴욕 Christie 의 경매에서...

 

 

모네작의 수련이 $4,380만에 팔렸다.

 A Monet water lilies painting sold for $43.8 millionon Wednesday Nov 14,

 

 

칸딘스키 작품 "Studie für Improvisation" 가 $2,300만 에 팔려서 그의 작품 중에 제일 고가로 팔렸다.

while a Kandinsky fetched an artist's record of ($23 million)

 

 

 

프란즈 클라인 작의 "무제 1957" 이 $4,040만 에 팔렸다.

Franz Kline. Described by Christie's as "the most important Abstract ｅxpressionist work by the artist

to come to market in a generation", "Untitled", 1957, was sold to a bidder on the telephone for $40,402,500

 

 

 

쟝 미셀 바스키아 작의 "무제" 가 $2,040만에..

 Jean-Michel Basquiat's excellent "Untitled", 1981 -one of the best works by the artist to come to market

in the last ten years- was sold for $26,402,500 (€20,662,195), a new world auction record for the artist.

 

 

 

워홀의 "아홉 재키" 는 $1,100만에..,

로이 릭튼스타인의 "빨간 셔트의 누드"는 $2,808만에...

Jeff Koons became one of the world's priciest living artists

when his metal 'Tulips' sold for $33.6 million, over the $20 million estimate.

 

 

 

 

 

11월 14일에 Philips 경매에서...

 

 

앤디 워홀 작품의 모택동이 $1,200만에 팔렸다.

A 1973 Warhol portrait of Mao Zedong.

Dealers said it was being sold by the London hedge fund manager Arpad Busson.

It went to a lone bidder for its low $12.million

 

 

 

 

 지난 5월 9일에 $8,700만에 팔린 1961년 로스코작의 "오랜지, 적색, 황색"

Forty-two years after his death, Marc Rothko sets records at a Christie's auction, which, again,

has its own reasons to walk down the pages of history.

A brilliant camaraderie of three colors, 'Orange, Red, Yellow"- Rothko's timeless creation from 1961,

shattered all records for post-war and contemporary art by fetching $87 million

 

 

 

위의 로쓰코작품이 경매되기 불과 1주일 전에

에드워드 뭉크의 "고함" 작품이 서더비 겸매에서 $1억 2천만불에 팔려서

경매시장 사상유래에 가장 비싼 금액에 팔린 미술품으로 등극했다.

 

Rothko's record comes a week after " The Scream” by Edward Munch

became the most expensive artwork sold at an auction, ever.

Depicting man's plight in contemporary world, the Scream went under the hammer

at Sotheby's on May this year.

It bagged $120 million, setting record for the biggest sum fetched

 by a piece of art at auction.

루벤스 작품으로 판명된 마르타와 "예수님의 죽음을 애도하는 마리아 막달레나"

that experts believe to be an original masterpiece by Rubens, discovered in the Urals this week

 

러시아 미술전문가들은 유랄산맥에 위치한 작은 도시의 박물관에 소장되었던

복사본으로 알려져 왔던 "애도하는 막달레나" 가

보존과 복구과정에서 17세기의 거장인 루벤스의 작품으로 판명이 났다고

지난 2012년 11월 15일에 발표를 했다.

 

Russian arts experts believe they have found an original Rubens painting in a small museum in the Urals.

It was assumed that the painting called "Mary Magdalene in mourning with her sister Martha" was a copy,

but restoration revealed it to be "undoubtedly" an original by the 17th century Flemish painter

said museum director Valery Karpov.

 

러시아의 예카테리부르그 도시에서 약 200 km 떨어진 이르비트 작은 마을에 위치한

박물관에서 새로 보완된 작품이 공식적으로 공개가 되었다.

세인트 피터스부르그의 유명한 허미타지 박물관에서 파견되어서

복구작업을 주도했던 빅터 코로보브씨는

이 작품이 루벤스의 제자들의 도움으로 루벤스가 손수 그린 그림이라고 확신한다고 했다.

It was unveiled yesterday in the small town of Irbit around 200 kilometres (124 miles)

from the nearest big city of Yekaterinburg, Russia.

The head of painting restoration from the Hermitage museum in Saint Petersburg,

Viktor Korobov, examined the painting on Thursday, and said it was "undoubtedly an original,

created with the participation of Rubens' pupils," Karpov said.

 

예수님을 따라 다니던 마리아 막달레나와 그녀의 팔은

피터 폴 루벤스가 직접 그렸고,

그녀의 언니 마르타는 루벤스의 제자들이 그린 것으로 추정되었다.

The face of Jesus's follower Mary Magdalene and her arms

are believed to have been painted by Peter Paul Rubens himself,

while the figure of her sister could have been painted

by pupils in his large workshop.

 

 

 

  영국 런던에서... 

 

사진작가 루이즈 치레라 작의  "메노나이트 여인 마르가리타" 사진 작품이

테일러 웨싱 초상화 사진대회에서 1등 수상작으로 선정되었다.

 

사진작가인 루이즈 치레라씨는 28세의 스페인 출신으로 런던에 거주하는데

볼리비아에 거주하는 집단인 메노나이츠 (Amish 처럼 아주 독실한 청교도들로 옛방식대로 생활하는 집단)

마을에 들어가서 사진찍기가 금지된 이 집단에서 그들의 신뢰를 얻은 후에

메노나이트 여인을울 카메라에 담은 작품이 이번에 수상의 영광을 안았다.

Ruiz Cirera, a 28 year-old Spaniard living in London,

took this photograph of a Mennonite woman in Bolivia,

where he lived with different colonies and eventually won their trust.

Photography is forbidden in many Mennonite communities –

which partly explains the sitter's evasiveness.

Ruiz Cirera, who has also won the Deutsche Bank Award in photography this year,

takes the 12,000 Taylor Wessing Photographic Portrait Prize 2012.

1979년후에 33년만에 초현실주의 미술가인 스페인 태생의 살바도르 달리의 작품 200여점이

11월 21일부터 파리의 퐁피두 현대 미술 센터 (Beaubourg) 에서 전시된다.
