About me...Helen/

by Helen of Troy 2016. 7. 27.

"Summer afternoon - summer afternoon;

to me those have always been the two most
beautiful words in the English language."
-  Henry James

"A summer's sun is worth the having."

"That beautiful season the Summer!
Filled was the air with a dreamy and magical light;
and the landscape
Lay as if new created in all the freshness of childhood."
-   Henry Wadsworth Longfellow

"There ought to be gardens for all months in the year,
in which, severally, things of beauty may be then in season."
Sir Francis Bacon

"But thy eternal summer shall not fade
Nor lose possession of that fair thou owest;
Nor shall Death brag thou wander'st in his shade,
When in eternal lines to time thou growest:
So long as men can breathe or eyes can see,
So long lives this and this gives life to thee."
-   William Shakespeare,  Sonnet XVIII

"To see the Summer Sky
Is Poetry, though never in a Book it lie  -
True Poems flee"
-   Emily Dickinson

"In summer, the song sings itself."
-   William Carlos Williams

In the depth of winter,

I finally learned that within me

there lay an invincible summer.

~Albert Camus

People don't notice

whether it's winter or summer

when they're happy.

~Anton Chekhov

Marigold..

"The greatest gift of the garden is

the restoration of the five senses."
-  Hanna Rion

"I celebrate myself, and what I assume you shall assume,
For every atom belonging to me as good belongs to you.
I loafe and invite my soul,
I lean and loafe at my ease...

observing a spear of summer grass."
-  Walt Whitman

"People take pictures of the Summer, j

ust in case someone thought they had missed it,

and to proved that it really existed."
-  Ray Davies

"A world without tomatoes

is like a string quartet without violins."
-  Laurie Colwin

"Live in each season as it passes:

breathe the air,

drink the drink,

taste the fruit."
–  Henry David Thoreau

"Deep summer is

when laziness finds respectability."
-  Sam Keen
