I'm back home from my second year at McGill University in Montreal. It wasn't cool that it was snowing. Coming from 13-17 degrees in Montreal was quite disappointing. It was a pretty good year, but a lot busier than the last with more courses, practicing, part time job at the McGill bookstore, and some auditions for summer music camps. Although, I still had time to hang out with friends, go to concerts, see movies, and eat out sometimes.
Now that I'm home quite early (I really lucked out with my final exam schedule this semester), I had a week to relax and look for a job or two. There's still jobs out there, but I don't get as many hours as I'd like. I'm a cashier at Safeway (not much different from my job at Sobeys last summer) and it's pretty good so far. The hours are a little unreliable, since the hours are based on seniority. It's easy though, but I'm stilll undecided about taking on a second job or not.
I'm also taking round 2 of driving lessons from the AMA (Alberta Motor Association). Why, round 2? I'm a slow learner, so the lessons last summer weren't enough and need more. They're kind of hard and stressful (yesterday I was tired, so it didn't go well at all), but I'm hoping it'll be worth it in the end.
Even though I don't have a lot of time between working and practicing, I still want to meet up with my old friends here and prepare for my first summer music camp in Orford, QC for the last two weeks of June to study with my teacher, Brian Manker, (masterclasses and such). Pretty exciting!
That's all for right now, so until next time. :)
