초록색 잔디가 깔린 뒷마당에서...

일년중 제일 날씨가 좋고

해도 길어서 하루 종일 나가있어도 좋기만 한

요즘 날씨인데도 2년동안 먼지만 날리고

잡초만 가득하던 뒷마당에 나갈 엄두도 내지 않다가

지난 금요일에 드디어 색깔도 싱싱한(?) 잔디도 깔리고

나무와 꽃들이 심어져서 처음으로 발을 디디게 되었습니다.

 

1-2주일간은 매일 잔디에 물을 주어야 자리를 잘 잡고

커서, sprinkler를 틀어놓고 막내딸도 신나는지

물위로 왔다갔다하면서 다 젖은 채로 물도 주고

먼지로 덮인 deck주위를 깨끗히 물로 씻어 주었습니다.

 

봄 여름이면 잔디와 꽃나무 그리고 10여가지의 채소를

가꾸면서 물도 주고 잡초도 뽑는일을 2년간 쉬었더니

물주는 일이 새삼스럽게 부담이 됩니다.

 

이번주부터라도 비록 많이 늦었지만 채소씨 몇가지를

뿌려서 대충 마무리가 된 뒷마당에서 느긋하게

가까운 친구들과 bbq를 하면서 시원한 맥주와 와인을 

마시면서  쌈거리로 곁들어서 먹으면서 즐거운 긴 여름밤을

재미있게 보내기를 그려봅니다.

 

 

처음으로 맨발로 나와서 열심히 자기 카메라를 눌러대고 있는중...

 

재미있는지 계속 폴짝거리면서도 꼭 뒷모습만 찍으라고 신신당부.....

 

 

 

We finally have the backyard wth actual green grass, instead of mud, dust and unsightly weeds, last Friday.  As I I had to fly out to Vancouver for a wedding the next

day very early, I decided to water the lawn throughout the afternoon

and evening to ensurethe good head start.

 

Emily helped me to wash off the dust and mud that have been

accumulated onthe deck over the years with power-wash. 

As we now have the shed, we also

were able to organize the the garden tools, soils, fertilizers,

pots and other misc.

things and put them in the shed neatly.

 

Our garden is now officially open for summer BBQ,

so come and join us for good

chats over cold beer and wine and enjoy the cool summer evening.
