박물관 4층에 슈베르째크(K. Schwerzek) 가 1896년에 그린 스케치에 근거해서

복구된 파르테논 신전 pediment 에 설치된 조각상의 모습...

The floral akroterion crowing the ridge of the Parthenon pediement

파르네논신전의 아크로테리온의 지붕 꼭대기에 설치된 꽃나무 모양의 조각상

1990년에 복구된 이 조각상은 페인트가 된 부분은 원형이며

나머지는 대리석으로 야자수 모양의 이파리를 대체했다.

이 조각상이 설치된 파르네톤 신전의 지붕 꼭대기

서쪽 페디멘트 오른편에는 아테네 여신과 포세이돈 신이 아테네 도시를 차지하기 위해서

벌리는 투쟁을 묘사하고 있다.

1896년에 그려진 스케치 기록에 의거해서 복원된 페이멘트의 모습

캐리씨가  이 돌 조각의 반만 기록해서 그렸는데

마차 뒤에는 왼손을 들고 뒤를 보고 있는 사령관의 모습이 새겨져있다.

only half of this block was drawn by J. Carrey, and with this the drawings

of the north frieze come to an end.  A marshal stands behind the chariot

horses, facing backwards and raising his left hand. 

In this had he holds one end of himation.

이 블록에는 두 마차와 기병과 두명의 사령관이 묘사되어 있다.

These blocks depict two chariots with their apobatai(hoplite-atheletes)

and charioteers, and two marshals.  The marshal gives an order with his upraised arm.

With the other, he pulls up his himation, which has slipped off his body.

Nearby, an apobates with an exomis(short cloak fastened at one shoulder), a helmet

 and a shield sulung over his back, has just climbed onto a chariot driven by the charioteer.
