2014 월드 프레스 콘테스트사진 수상작들-Winners of the World Press Photo Contest

132개국에서 5,754명의 프로 신문사진사와 사진작가 그리고 도큐멘타리 사진작가들이 

2014년 1월 중순까지 57회 월드 프레스 사진 콘테스트에 출품한 98,671 이미지 중에서

9개의 부분으로 나누어서 수상작품들을  2월 14일 어제 발표되었다,

아프리카의 여러곳을 옮겨다니면서 일을 하는 노동자들이

지부티의 해변가에서 인접한 소말리에 있는 친척들과 싼값에 통화하기 위해서

셀폰을 높이 쳐들고 있다.

 

 The photo of the year winner, by John Stanmeyer, shows African migrants on the shore of Djibouti at night, raising their phones in an attempt to capture an inexpensive signal from neighbouring Somalia. The picture also won first prize in the Contemporary Issues category, and was shot for National Geographic.

Military Ramp, an emergency refugee centre, was opened in September 2013 in an abandoned school in Sofia, Bulgaria. The centre provides housing for about 800 Syrian refugees, including 390 children.

사진작가 사라는 2012년 11월부터 매기의 일상을 기록해 왔는데,

매기는 전 남자친구 셰인에게 심한 구타를 받아온 피해자이다.

매기와 셰인이 심하게 싸우면서, 셰인이 매기에게 부억에서 맞거나,

지하실에 내려가서 얘기를 하던가 선택을 하라고 윽박지르고 있다.

 

 Sara documented the story of Maggie and her life since November 2012, when she was a victim of a violent attack by her now ex-boyfriend Shane.  As the fight continued to rage, Shane told Maggie that she could choose between getting beaten in the kitchen, or going with him to the basement so they could talk privately.

2013년 2월 1일 엘살바도르, 산 살바도르의 아포파 사탕수수 농장에서 17-18세로 추정되는 여자의 옷이 발견되었다.

세계에서 제일 흉악한 범죄발생률이 발생하는 북부 중앙 아메리카에서 삼각지대

(온두라스, 구아테말라, 엘살바도르) 는 이렇게 피해자가 사망당시 입고 있던 옷으로만

피해자의 신분을 확인할 수 있다.

 

Date found: 1 February 2013. Time 3:45 P.M. Location: a sugar plantation in Apopa, San Salvador, El Salvador. Sex: Female. Age: Between 17 and 18 years old. Time of disappearance: not available.The North Central American Triangle (Honduras, Guatemala and El Salvador) is one of the most violent regions in the world. In many cases, clothes that are found become the only means to identify victims.

스웨덴 출신의 7종경기 선수인 나디아 카사데이양이 마지막 항암치료 전에 트레이닝을 하고 있다.

나디아는 월드와 유럽 7종경기에 참가한 선수로, 2013년 가을에 암진단을 받고나서

2014년 1월까지 항암치료를 받는 중에도 브라질에서 열리는 올림픽 경기에 참가하고자

7종경기 트레이닝을 지속해 왔다.

 

Nadja feeling better just before her last treatment. Lidingö, Sweden. Swedish athlete Nadja Casadei has participated in the World and European Championships in heptathlon. In autumn 2013, she was diagnosed with cancer and by January 2014 she completed her chemotherapy. She has continued to train throughout her illness, hoping to be healthy and ready by the summer for the Olympics in Rio de Janeiro.

A five-year-old bonobo turns out to be the most curious individual of a wild group of bonobos near the Kokolopori Bonobo Reserve, in the Democratic Republic of Congo. Despite being humans' closest living relatives, little is known about Bonobos and their behavior in the wild in remote parts of the Congo basin. Bonobos are threatened by habitat loss and bush meat trade.
