비엔나에서 브로드웨이 무대에 올려진 유명한 오페레타 공연을 마치고...

2018년 3월 2일 공연 시작 10분 전...

 2018년에 들어서 가진 두번째 공연이

3월인데도 15 cm 폭설이 퍼붓는 가운데에

시내 한복판에 위치한 윈스피어 뮤직센터에서

2018년 3월 2일과 3일 이틀에 걸쳐서

1900년도 초반에서 70년도에 사이에 무대에 올려진

유명한 오페레타를 무대에 펼쳐졌다.

 2018년 3월 1일 목요일 Dress Rehearsal 중 휴식 시간에

합창단 Loft 위에서 담은 사진

이번 오페레타 공연을 위해서 초빙된 지휘자, 잭 에벌리(Jack Everly)님은

현재 인디아나폴리스 팝스 와 볼티모어 심포니 오케스트라의

상임지휘자 역을 맡고 계신다.

 

St. Joseph Basilica

2018년 3월 3일 토요일에 성요셉 주교좌 성당에서

8시 공연이 있는 날, 오후 5시 미사에

제대 앞에서 성가봉사(cantor)를 마친 후에 바실리카가 눈에 덮여 있다.

미끄러운 눈길을 달려서 공연장에 무사히 도착해서

샌드위치로 간단히 저녁을 해결하고, 공연복장으로 갈아입고 무대로 향했다.

 

춘삼월에 갑자기 내린 폭설에도 불구하고

금요일과 토요일 공연 모두 전 좌석이 매진되어서

공연장을 꽉 채운 많은 관중들의 큰 환호 속에서 공연을 성공리에 잘 마칠 수 있어서

추운 캐나다의 겨울 날씨에 열심히 연습을 한 보람을 제대로 맛 볼 수 있는 좋은 공연이었다.
